Part-Time Contract Position (In Person)

Our recording studio is open 24/7, making this an ideal job for current teachers who want to work during evenings or on days off. 

Job Description:

We are seeking detail-oriented and experienced educators to join our team on a part-time basis. There are three positions available: 

• 6th Grade
• 7th Grade
• 8th Grade

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in teaching writing and using technology. This role involves juggling technology while providing clear and engaging lessons on video.

The position begins on Saturday, July 12th, with an in-person training from 10:30am-Noon at our office in Goodyear.

The hours are flexible, and you can expect to spend around 7-10 hours in our recording studio and 3-5 hours preparing your lessons at home each week, for a total of 10-15 hours/week. Once you are fully trained, you can expect to reserve your recording time at least one week ahead of time.

Responsibilities:

• Use a tablet, Mac, and microphone to record high-quality video lessons with clear explanations, examples, and guided writing practice using our curriculum
• Ensure lessons are clear and follow the sequence and models provided to you
• Check video files for audio and content quality and organize into Dropbox folders for review
• Once trained, independently operate video and audio equipment
• Communicate regarding deadlines and project details on Slack with your team leader

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of classroom experience teaching writing lessons in Middle School
• Strong proficiency in technology, including using a Mac computer and microphone, as well as recording software
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team
• The ability to modify current teaching strategies to match our program's philosophy

Compensation:

$30/hour

You can expect to work about 7-10 hours a week, and you can choose to work more over holiday breaks.

This is a contractor position, so no employment benefits will be provided. You will choose your own hours in order to meet project deadlines.
